Heartfulness: A National Yoga Month Celebration

September is National Yoga Month (it’s a thing!)and we’re celebrating at The Yoga Zen with a Meditation Pop Up Sunday September 29 from 11:15am – noon followed by a potluck. This event is FREE and open to all.

We’ll be practicing Heartfulness meditation, a style practiced by people of all faiths all over the world.  It asks each person to connect to the light and love in their own hearts. One of our members at the studio, Jill, is a trainer for Heartfulness. She’ll our leader and will share more information about this particular style of meditation.  Then, we’ll all practice a little Heartfulness together.

If you haven’t tried Heartfulness meditation before, I recommend giving it a try! I’ve experienced enormous benefits from meditating this way. I started meditating with Jill a little over 6 months ago and it’s led to a transformational shift in how I feel about myself. The best way to describe it is…we typically close each yoga class, by saying, “Namaste”, which loosely means “the light and goodness in me honors that same light and goodness within you”. And…I’ve been hearing and saying that word for 7+ years of practicing yoga, but I didn’t honestly believe it – that I was inherently light and good – until I started meditating this way. It’s been a huge benefit to me, my family, and my mental health as I’ve undertaken opening and running the studio this first year and I’m immensely grateful it’s in my life.  I’ve felt more balanced, stronger, lighter, and more capable. It’s been a nice feeling!

I hope you can join us Sunday the 29th!  If you’d like to bring a dish to share for the potluck, feel free, but not required. Please register for the meditation on our website to save your spot.

Happy National Yoga Month!

Shanti (peace) –
